Octa Models sees a real place as it is — its ground, its water, its air and its sky — from named sources, and opens it to anyone. It grew inside an incubator, it runs on Octa Intelligence, and it was carried here by many hands over more than twenty years.

01 · The incubator Octa HQ

Between one economy and the next.

Octa Models is a fruit of Octa HQ, an incubator. Octa HQ develops the methodology, services and tools that help businesses operate more independently, adapt to disruption, and stay viable for the long term.

For decades, business could count on steady growth, available resources and a predictable world. That world is giving way. Climate change, pressure on resources, economic instability, political tension and accelerating technology now reinforce one another — what many call the polycrisis. The moment calls for new models of business and service, built for the conditions ahead.

Octa HQ answers with a regenerative, cooperative and sovereign model of enterprise: enterprises that sustain the resources they rely on, reinvest in their local ecosystems, serve their communities and partner with others to build resilient regions.

That is why a model of a place matters. No enterprise can sustain what it cannot see. Before a business, a community or a public body can decide how to live well on a piece of ground, it needs to know that ground as it truly is — its rock and its rivers, its air and its light, and, in time, its life, its economy and its people. Our aim for the future is exactly that: every aspect of a place in one model, so that whoever stands on it can see the conditions they live in, understand them, and act with that understanding.

Octa Intelligence

The engine that feeds every model.

Octa Intelligence is Octa HQ's Seed for contextual and spatial intelligence: data infrastructure, modelling, mapping, analysis and simulation. Octa Models is how that intelligence reaches one exact place — yours.

Everything a model shows passes through the engine in the same order, for every place on Earth. It begins with the bodies that publish the data — the country's own authorities first, then the open datasets of the world — and ends with a model you can turn in your hands. Where a place has no data for something, the engine says so plainly and draws nothing: it never borrows another place's numbers.

03 · The story
How we got here

Twenty-two years, many hands.

No model of a place is the work of one mind. This one was carried across more than two decades by many people: the teachers who first opened the subject, the colleagues and researchers who questioned it and sharpened it, and brilliant people met along the way who each gave it something it could not have had without them.

And it reaches the world because of Octa HQ. Without the incubator's support, its people and its AI expertise, years of research would have stayed research. Together they turned it into a service anyone can open.

Seeing the world in layers

First study of Geographic Information Systems

It began with a simple idea that changes everything: a place can be read as layers — rock, water, roads, people — laid on the same ground, each one able to answer a question.

Lifting off the ground

In Cologne the view rose above the map: satellites that measure what no one can walk, and terrain that can be turned in three dimensions. The block you turn in our models today began here.
