The models show the place storey by storey: the rock and soil, the water, the air and the sky above it — the ecological forces that weigh on every decision made on the ground. Each model opens in 2D and 3D, as tables and as cards, and every tab begins with the plain question it answers, such as “Which rivers, streams and ditches cross this ground, how large is each one, and which way does the water flow?” What is known about a place sits with dozens of agencies, in different formats and scales. Octa Models reads them — the country’s own authority first — and puts their answers on the same ground, under one clock and one light. Every value names the source it comes from and how it is known. Every equation is shown with its published reference: the four models open today carry 278 equations, 206 published references and 42 named data sources. Where no source exists, the model shows a dash, not a guess. The demo place, Breda–Montseny in Catalonia, was measured against independent references rather than against itself. Its ground is read at 0.45 m a pixel from Catalonia’s own LiDAR survey; the free world elevation model sits typically 4.7 m from that true ground, which is why the model reads the national survey instead. Its sun lies on average 0.15° from NASA JPL’s ephemeris over every daylight hour of 2024. Clients can bring their own layers onto the true ground, send live readings by API, and ask about their place in plain words with Ask Octa, which puts Claude inside the model. They pay once for the modelling, then a monthly subscription for the model and its data. “We are living through a time of drastic change, at one of the most decisive moments in the history of human evolution.
